Calling for Volunteers

The Chamberlain Highbury Trust is seeking passionate volunteers to help transform Highbury into a vibrant, inclusive heritage destination. From restoring the estate to protecting green spaces and sharing its rich history, volunteers play a vital role in bringing Highbury’s vision to life.

“We want Highbury to be a place where everyone feels welcome – a destination for learning, community, and connection with nature,” said Emma Bangham, Trust Co-ordinator. “Achieving this vision relies on people who are willing to share their time, energy, and ideas. Every contribution, whether a few hours or a full day, makes a difference.”

Highbury offers a range of volunteer roles to suit all interests and availability. At present the Trust is particularly keen to recruit:

• Tour Guides – If you love history, storytelling, and engaging with people, help bring Highbury’s stories to life.

• Horticultural Volunteers – If you enjoy working outdoors, join our gardens and conservation team to care for and enhance Highbury’s green spaces.

Other opportunities include work experience placements and internships, ideal for students or those looking to gain practical skills in heritage and community engagement.

 Volunteers will not only contribute to the restoration and protection of the estate but also play a key part in creating a place where the local community, visitors, and young people feel a sense of belonging.
