Travel to A Thousand Journeys to Highbury in a rather special way! Enjoy a horse-drawn carriage journey through Highbury Park, from Kings Heath Station to Highbury Hall along a scenic route through the park. The carriage journey takes approximately 10 – 20 minutes one way, depending on conditions, and offers a unique way to experience the historic landscape while travelling to the event.

Carriage rides will run between 11am and 2pm, with horses taking regular rest breaks to ensure their welfare. Places are limited, so advance booking is essential.

When booking you can select a time of departure from Highbury Park’s Kings Heath Station entrance to Highbury Hall – 11am, 11.30am. 12pm, 1pm, or 1.30pm. Please check your booking time carefully and arrive promptly, as the carriage will need to keep to its timetable. The carriage will not wait for latecomers and your place will be reallocated, no refunds or exchanges will be given.

Assemble for your carriage ride at our gazebo at the Kings Heath Rail Station entrance to Highbury Park at the right-hand side of the station, Alcester Road, King’s Heath, Birmingham, B14 7SN. Please note there is no car parking available at the station.

Carriage rides from Highbury Hall back to the rail station will be bookable on the day.  You can book at the stop outside Highbury Hall from 11am on Sunday 20th September.

Places on these rides are extremely limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

Please note:
Carriage travel is subject to weather, ground conditions and the welfare of the horses. The route through Highbury Park may need to be altered if necessary.

Our staff and the carriage crew cannot help people into or out of the carriage, so please note that there are two high steps to get on and off.

Children must be accompanied by an adult and everyone must book a seat and sit down throughout the ride. Baby wearing is possible on board.

Entry to A Thousand Journeys to Highbury needs to be booked separately. Please book a place via Eventbrite to ensure your entry into the event.
