Step beyond the public rooms and uncover the hidden side of Highbury Hall on a behind-the-scenes tour.
Led by Lucy, our Activities Planner, this fascinating tour takes you into parts of the mansion rarely seen by visitors, rooms not currently in public use and normally closed off during standard tours, showing you the potential of the space and sharing restoration plans. You’ll explore atmospheric spaces that reveal the working life of the house, from servants’ quarters and kitchens to children’s bedrooms and old schoolrooms, while hearing stories of Highbury’s past, present, and future.
The area of the mansion toured is unrestored. Expect steps, uneven surfaces, low light, and dark corners. Sensible footwear is essential, and we recommend bringing a torch if you find low-light conditions challenging.
Free of charge. These tours are very popular so book now to reserve your place.
A suggested donation of £5 is welcome and can be made at Highbury or online here.
If you fancy a cuppa after your tour refreshments will be on sale throughout the morning.
Please note: It is recommended that you attend the main Highbury Hall Tour before booking this tour (either on the same day or on one of our other Open Days).
